Project Description

Business Without Borders 2019: Incident Response | Conference

The travel risk experience like no other

An immersive experience that deep dives into the key phases of an incident overseas.

Are you a key stakeholder in your organisation’s Travel Risk Programme. Have you ever wished you could be an observer of an overseas incident and watch it unfold before your eyes, giving you the chance to watch and experience how a critical event involving one of your employees abroad would actually play out? The chance to ask yourself along the way, would we have that part covered? Could we do that? What if tomorrow that situation happened to us, how would we cope? If so, this is the event for you. We aren’t going to talk about it, we are going to experience it.

The incident

An airport shuttle has collided with a heavy goods vehicle on the outskirts of Mumbai. Emergency Services reach the location but the traffic, onlookers and number of casualties presents a chaotic and complex scene.

Your company has 2 female employees on board, one dies at the scene and the other is in a critical condition and needs to be moved to definitive care.

The incident lifecycle

Our day will follow 6 key 50 minute sessions which will illustrate in granular detail the unfolding situation along its various phases. Starting with ‘At the Scene’ and culminating in the legal processes and implications one year on.

1. At the scene
2. Medical assistance
3. Consular assistance
4. Financial mitigation
5. Communication: Family, friends & the media
6. Legal implications

What information would flow from the scene and how quickly? How do you repatriate mortal remains? How do you understand and influence the care being given to the critically injured employee? Who, how and what communication and support is being given to family, friends and the world at large. How will you manage the media and the potential damage to your reputation? And will you in the later stages be able to demonstrate a fulfilment of your institution’s duty of care and best practice in your mitigation and response of and to this incident.

Join us for a day like no other and leave us more empowered to protect your business travellers overseas.
